Key Takeaways

  • Private markets investors routinely manage holdings with performance data scattered across dozens of disconnected portals. Allocate Insights aims to collapse that into one unified view.
  • Allocate Insights uses AI to surface, organize, and contextualize private investment documents and data, with the goal of helping advisors spend less time on data reconciliation and more time with clients.
  • Core capabilities include centralized performance reporting, AI-generated portfolio insights, K-1 tracking, capital call management, and look-through visibility into underlying holdings.
  • The product was built from a simple conviction: private markets should feel as accessible and transparent as public markets.

The Problem

Here's a scenario that plays out in wealth advisory firms every week.

A client calls. They want to know how their private markets portfolio is performing, what's been marked up, when to expect the next capital call, and what they actually own inside those fund structures. Simple question. Reasonable ask.

The advisor pulls up a spreadsheet with the client’s portfolio data. It hasn’t been updated with the latest reporting, and the data is stale. So they message the operations team, who logs into an investor portal to grab the latest statements. Then another portal, and another for every position. By the time they've found all of the necessary documents and manually updated the spreadsheet, hours have passed, and the "simple question" has become a half-day project. And when all is said and done, the advisor still has to comb through the data to find the narrative to share with the client.

This isn't an edge case. It's the standard operating experience for many advisors managing private investments today. So we decided to do something about it.

What Allocate Insights Actually Is

Allocate Insights is an AI-powered solution with the goals of giving advisors and investors a unified view of their private markets portfolio in one place.

That sentence is easy to read past, so let me be specific about what it means in practice.

It means

  • performance reporting without the portal logins
  • automated K-1 collection for a simpler tax season
  • centralized capital call and distribution tracking
  • look-through visibility to see company-level exposure
  • contextual insights that go beyond the account statement PDF

Think of it as the intelligence layer for your firm’s private markets program.

Rather than requiring advisors or their operations teams to manually normalize data across sources, our platform leverages AI and automation to do the heavy lifting – ingesting documents, extracting relevant data points, and surfacing them in a structured, consistent interface.

The result is portfolio performance reporting with way less effort.

For look-through exposure specifically: Allocate Insights doesn't just tell you what funds a client holds. It surfaces what those funds hold, providing valuations and insights on portfolio-companies and underlying assets.

With an automated, holistic view of the portfolio as the foundation, we again leverage AI – this time to surface the signals that matter most. Where is the portfolio under-allocated? Where is there company-level concentration risk across funds? What do cash flows look like over the next 18 months? What does the latest headline IPO mean for my client? Pulling together the data to explore these questions used to take an analyst hours of effort. Now it's at your fingertips.

Why We Built It

We've been watching the same problem compound for years. Private markets are growing fast. More advisors are adding alternatives to client portfolios, and the number of fund positions any given client holds has grown accordingly.

The infrastructure, though, hasn't kept up. Each GP has their own portal. Each administrator has their own reporting format. Documents land in an inbox, and the operations team has to log into portals and pull out all of the data by hand. The data exists, it's just scattered everywhere and formatted differently every time.

What we observed: the private markets technology stack remains fragmented in ways that actively work against the people trying to use it. And if simply accessing post-investment reporting data is this hard, how can an advisor surface the most critical insights for their clients at scale?

Allocate Insights is our answer to that.

Who It's Built For

Wealth advisors and RIAs managing clients with multi-fund private market exposure. If you've ever had to reconcile a client's portfolio before a review meeting, you know exactly what problem we're solving. Allocate Insights streamlines that manual exercise so you can focus your energy on building relationships with your clients.

Family offices with complex, multi-manager programs. The depth of look-through visibility and document organization matters more as portfolio complexity grows. Insights scales with it.

Operations teams at advisory firms handle capital calls, K-1 collection, and reporting workflows. The administrative surface area of a well-built alts program is significant. Allocate Insights compresses it.

The common thread: anyone who manages private market investments on behalf of clients and has felt the friction of doing it with disconnected tools.

What Does This Change Mean for Your Clients

When an advisor can walk into a review meeting knowing exactly what a client owns across their entire alts portfolio and has the most important insights at their fingertips, that meeting is different. The conversation moves from "let me look that up" to "here's what's happening and here's what it means for you."

That shift is what Allocate Insights is designed to enable. Not just operational efficiency, though the time savings are real. More importantly, the kind of informed, confident engagement that builds trust with clients who are putting meaningful capital into alternative investments and want to know their advisor actually has a handle on it.

Part of Something Bigger

Allocate Insights didn't get built in isolation. It's one piece of a platform we've been building to serve as the operating system for private markets in the wealth channel.

The conviction underneath all of it is straightforward: private markets should feel as accessible and transparent as public markets. That's not the reality today for most advisors and family offices. It's where we're headed.

Insights is how we start delivering on that for the post-investment reporting layer. The AI layer we're continuing to build across the platform in 2026 will take it further – surfacing what matters and helping advisors and their teams stay ahead of their portfolios rather than catching up to them.
